My Ishmael R.E.M

Project description: We had read this book in class called My Ishmael. Charlotte had gave us different types of "Reading Enjoyment Maximizers," we had to pick just one of them out of all the different once. All of this R.E.M had to reflect to the book or chapter of My Ishmael.

Process: First we had to read the book My Ishmael after we were finish with book we had to chose our R.E.M. I chose to do the illustrator and pick one chapter so with the drawing people can understand more the chapter and the book. At the beginning when i chose my chapter to draw i didn't really know what draw about but i went back to the chapter that i decide to do that is called We Lurch To The Starting Line and i had to re read the chapter so i can know what i had to draw about. I had to draw a school and the young man that was talking to Ishmael. Basically my chapter was about that a young man name Alan Lomax and a gorilla name Ishmael were talking to each other. At first i though it was going to be hard but once i understand it made everything more easy.

Reflection: I learn so many things in this project about My Ishmael and R.E.M. The process of this chapter is that no matter what if you don't have a picture in the book or in the chapter and you don't really understand it Even though you went back to re read and you still don't get it the easy way to do is to just draw a picture that can help you to understand more.

The challenge i had was that i didn't really know what R.E.M to chose and After me choosing the illustrator i didn't know what to draw about those were my main challenge.

If i had something to change it would be the way i have to spend more time on my work so i can do better. An to focus on just the part that my project was about.

This project would help me more for other type of R.E.M and to be better in other classes or for other school and so they can know that i understand what R.E.M is and what you exactly have to know.

This I believe Reflection

Project description: In class we first had to write 30 things that we believe. It had to be something important in you're life, but it could be funny. After that we had to choose one that we wanted to write about that we really believe on.

Reflection: In this I believe project i had learn a lot about the things that i believe, and i also learn that everyone in this world have lots of things that they can believe.

The challenge i had was to choose one 1 out of 30 things that i wrote. Even though i had the 30 i believe to help me see on the things that i believe it made it more hard to choose because all of them had good things that i can write about but i still made my choose in witch one to write about.

The thing i would do different is to write more then 400 words so it can be longer and so it can be more interesting. i would also had change on spending more longer on coming up with more details so people can understated it more.

This i believe project would help me so i can become a good writer and so it can help me more in other class.

What would you remember about the performance?
I think I would remember the way she like to play instruments and make sounds
even though she was deaf she knew what sounds she had for her instruments.

Describe what it felt like listening to her. what factors help create this moment?
you can describe any of the times that she played either instruments.
What I enjoy on her performance was the way she would play on the Marimba she would make any good sounds. I also enjoy the way she would put all her hardness to make it good so everyone can enjoy it like I did. The other thing that i like too was when she was playing with her drum she would play not only with the sticks but with her jewelry.

What elements of her performance influenced what the audiences heard?
I think she put alot of effort on her performance. I was so shock that she was deaf, because she seem like she wasent. Until doing the performance she said that she was deaf since she was young. She show all her emotions on her sounds and on playing her instruments.

What did she mean be, "Each person experience music in their different"?
I think that even though some people had different problems like been deaf, blind or other things they still have the same passions as other people that can hear, feel or play music. No matter what they can still have a chance to do all those things well if they like to do those kinds of stuff. Not everyone likes the same types of music because it depends on what you like. Every person have a different personality.

My name is Carla my role of farmers market is selling fruit.

How long have you been working here?

I been working for 9 years.

Do you enjoy working here in this farmers market?

Yes i do enjoy working in here because it's not to much work and because i have a lot of people buying my fruits.

Whats is the goal of this farmers market?

The goal is to tell people to come because is not to expensive and because our fruit we sell are the best and juicy.

Since when have this market been?

This farmers market it's been for 20 years.

Why do you choose to sell here?

We choose to sell here so when people come over they can try our juicy fruit and also so they can come more often.

When did you first start selling here?

I start selling here since 9 years ago.

Have you seen a change in the product that are being sold?

I seen that our product had change because we sell more then what we use to.

I was so impress and interesting in interviewing this person

and i should go more often so i can buy those juicy fruit. I was walking all around the farmers market and it's so big i never sow a big farmers market like this.

I would like to go again because it was a good place to go and they had good food and fruit and other things. I would like to do another interview again.

Talking these ideas out :)

The most thing that struck me out was about Food Inc and the different of the food system. I dont agree with the fast food companies or other food that is modified to whatever other companies. Every companie food has the same teast of any meal you have in any locations. I think its not healthy because of they way they are doing them. All of the effects are going to the world by the way they are doing to all of the foods. My family and friends have no idea the conditon of the slaughtered animal were so bad that is now connect to all of the food system. They agree with what I think about companies that are invloved with the food system. And I disagree with the people by killing the animals even though are food is made by animals....

School Daze II

Response: I think that having a three-year-old having to stay in household from learning is bad they need education even though they have household is not the same if they go to school. Even though they have three- years -old they need some education. Even though many people think that 3 year old cant really have education I think most of kids can have a good education no matter if your younger or old everyone need the same education.

Leilony Getting Attacked

Leilony was only 15 years old. She was tall and skinny and her eyes were blue like the sky, she likes to party a lot and be with her boyfriend and her friends and family.

It was a Friday night when Leilony was having an argument with her parents at her big and nice house. Leilony never listened to her parents. They were arguing because Leilony wanted to go to a party with her boyfriend and her friends. She opened the door and went to have a walk at the park it was kind of far away like 30 minutes from her house. After a couple of hours it was really night. After a couple of minutes she went back home. She was walking alone. It was so late and dark she just walked and walked trying to get to her house. She was walking alone in the street, when she was walking there were two guys in the corner on the street, and another one on the other side of the corners. She was really scared that they might do something to her. Even though she was scared she kept walking. The guys were looking at her and after a while the guys started to follow her, In a moment they grab her took everything out of her purse and they took her with them in an old house.

The house was so old that the doors were broken and the windows too. It was yellow with white and it only had one room were they had Leilony it was very dark inside the house, the walls were falling all the house was falling down.

When they took her away she was scared because she didn’t know what they were going to do to her. She was thinking if she hadn’t left her house this would not have happened. She didn’t know what to do. She couldn’t defend herself. She was crying so hard that her eyes were red. She was feeling terrible she was crying and screaming at the same time please let me go. “I want to go with my parents”, the guys said, “no you’re not going with your parents until we get the money”.

As soon as they got to the old house the guys tied her from her hands and her legs. Leilony couldn’t stand up or do anything. The guys just give her bread and a cup of water. After two days the guys had made a call to Leilony’s parents and told them that they want 6,000 thousand dollars so that the girl would be alive or else they were going to kill her. Her mom and dad were crying.

After a week the guys called back and told her parents to bring the money, but they told them not to call the cops. Her parents were scared. They didn’t care what the man said to them, they still called the cops to go with them, so when they went to take the money the cops went with them.

When they got to the park at night her dad put the money on the ground and when the guy came out from where he was hiding he pointed the gun at her dad. When the guy got the money the cops came out from where they were hiding. They were shooting everywhere at the park. They shot one of the guys boom boom the guy felt to the ground and the guy was all dead with his eyes open and blood all over him and the others were arrested. Finally Leilony was with her parents again and she decided to listen to her parents and not leave the house anymore and not even at night she feel very disappointed to herself.

After a month one of the guys that took Leilony ditched the jail and he decided to kill Leilony’s dad. So Leilony’s dad went to go buy some food for his wife and his daughter, but after a while it was getting dark and Leilony’s dad didn’t come back. She and her mom were worried. After a while the phone rang, it was the cops. They told Leilony’s mom that her husband was dead, Leilony cried like she never had her eyes were so watering and red her make up was all mess up. She couldn’t help it. She was feeling bad that she wanted to die to because her dad was not with her anymore, she didn’t know what to do anymore. Now Leilony and her mom had to move on. They were alone and didn’t have her dad anymore. Since then Leilony always listened to her mom.

Years had passed and Leilony finally graduated from school like her dad had wanted her to. Now she works as a teacher and knows what to do now since she’s 20 years old. She had decided to get married with her boyfriend and wanted to have a lot of kids. Leilony’s mom was so happy that she said, “I’m happy for you and I know that your dad its here he would be happy with you daughter. Leilony cry because she was happy of all the decision that she had made for her and her family she never thought this was going to end it like this.
